Paper 1 — language
- 01Verbs, adjectives, concord and tenseThe verb must agree with the doer, and the tense must match the time.
- 02Reading longer texts and visual textsFind the paragraph that holds the answer before you write.
- 03Grammar, vocabulary and editingFix only the error the question names. Do not rewrite the meaning.
- 04Summary of a longer textThree facts, one sentence each, then cut until you are inside the word limit.
- 05Visual and advertising textsSay what the layout wants noticed, and what the small print wants skipped.
- 06Fact and opinionA fact can be checked in the text. An opinion needs the word that shows whose view it is.
Paper 2 — literature
- 07Literature: novel or drama, and poetryUse two moments from the book. A retelling of the whole plot earns the content marks of neither.
